Below are links to some of my favorite authors and writing organization websites. I encourage beginning writers to join a writers organization; you don't need to be writing romance or mystery to join RWA or MWA - the basics of writing (plot, characters, dialogue, setting, etc.) are not specific to genre.

SleuthFest - Annual writers conference, sponsored by the MWA-Florida Chapter

Mystery Writers of America - You automatically belong to the chapter closest to your address

Romance Writers of America - You join each local chapter individually; you can belong to as many chapters as you like

Alexandra Sokoloff - The Dark Salon blog is an excellent resource for screenwriting and novelists
